Delivery and condition
Shipping and record grading
Everything here is what you will actually be charged, taken straight from our delivery settings. UK orders of £50 and over go free. Below that, you pay by weight, and the exact figure for your basket is shown at checkout before you pay anything.
What does UK delivery cost?
| Service | Order weight | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Free standard delivery | Orders of £50 and over, 2 to 4 working days | Free |
| Royal Mail 1st Class | Up to 1kg, around 3 records | £4.35 |
| Courier, tracked | Up to 2kg, around 7 records | £5.80 |
| Courier, tracked | 2kg to 10kg, around 39 records | £7.97 |
| Courier, tracked | 10kg to 20kg | £10.00 |
Weights assume 250g for a 12 inch, which is what most of this catalogue weighs, and the record counts are rounded down to leave room for packaging. Where more than one service covers your order's weight, you choose between them at checkout.
Do you ship outside the UK?
| Destination | Carrier | From |
|---|---|---|
| Europe, EU countries | Royal Mail 1st Class | £8.60 |
| Europe, non-EU countries | Royal Mail | £12.50 |
| Canada | Royal Mail | £8.60 |
| United States | Royal Mail | £19.50 |
| Australia and New Zealand | Royal Mail International | £15.85 |
| Rest of the world | Royal Mail | £14.05 |
International postage is priced by weight and destination, and tracked courier services are offered alongside Royal Mail on heavier orders. The figure above is the lowest rate for that destination, so your basket will never come to less than it. Any customs or import charges are set by the destination country and are not collected at checkout.
What condition are the records in?
Most of what we sell is new. Current pressings, and back catalogue that has sat unplayed since it was pressed. Where a record is second hand, a white label or a promo, the product page says so.
Where a record is graded, we use the Goldmine standard, which is the same standard Discogs uses. A grade here means what it means there.
| Grade | What it means |
|---|---|
| Mint (M) | Perfect in every way. Never played, usually still sealed. Rarely used, and never as a guess. |
| Near Mint (NM or M-) | Looks as though it has just come out of the shop. No surface marks, sleeve clean and square. Most of what we sell is this or better. |
| Very Good Plus (VG+) | Played, and looked after. Light signs of handling that do not affect the way it sounds. |
| Very Good (VG) | Clearly played. Surface noise and light scuffs are audible in the quiet parts, but it plays through without trouble. |
| Good (G) and Good Plus (G+) | Plays all the way through without skipping, but with noticeable surface noise and visible marks. Bought for the music rather than the object. |
| Poor (P) and Fair (F) | Cracked, badly warped or skipping. We do not sell records in this condition. |
We have traded on Discogs as IMOrecords since 2011, where our feedback stands at 99.7% positive across 1,077 ratings. The grading on this site is the same grading we do there.
